I am Marisol Gil and I have worked for 5 years at Castlewood as a banquet server. I love my job working with the members at Castlewood. My husband and I have two children who are 9 and 12 years old. They play competitive soccer here in Pleasanton and they love to play. Under Castlewood’s “last and final” proposal family medical would cost $739 a month. I would no longer be able to afford to cover my family on my healthcare and I fear that because I only work when there are parties, I might not get enough hours to qualify for my own coverage. I worry what would happen to my kids if they get hurt playing soccer and they don’t have medical coverage anymore. We are being reasonable. Even though the medical has always been free for workers we are offering to pay $225 per month for our family medical. Please do not lock us out, instead please negotiate with our union, and help us get a contract with affordable medical.
I am Carlos Hernandez, dinner cook, and have been working at Castlewood for 5 years. I love my job making the best food for the members. I have my wife and 3 kids who are 2 months, 5 years, 7 years on the medical through Castlewood. If the medical were $739 per month like the Club’s proposal there is no way that I would be able to afford it. My wife and children would lose coverage. I am very worried because my wife just had gallbladder surgery last week and without the medical coverage I do not know what she would have done. My wife and kids are my world and I do not want to have anything bad happen to them. We have proposed to take wage freezes and pay a lot more for our medical but I can’t afford to lose my family’s coverage. Please do not lock us out, negotiate with us and agree to a fair contract.
I am Martin Tostado, Pantry Cook. I am proud of the job I do for the members. After 20 years of service to Castlewood I am now being told that I will be locked out of my job if I do not agree to pay $739 to cover my 2 kids and my wife. We are all wiling to pay more for our medical but there is no way we can afford Castlewood’s proposal. Thankfully my kids are healthy and have only needed checkups so far, but we need medical coverage and I do not want to go on welfare programs when for 20 years I have been able to take care of my family. We are willing to pay something reasonable but locking us out is not right. Please negotiate with our union and stop the lockout
